Soup and a salad? Oh wow is this black or is it dark green font? Not sure. But I had a turkey and swiss sandwich and chicken noodle soup.

Post Run

Did core work and ate pineapples.

P4190074

As well as stretched and rolled my legs out.

Dinner

P4190076

Two small tacos and 2 pieces of pizza. I know, what a dinner of champions!!!!

P4190077

Also tried hummus for the first time! This kind didn’t have any taste and kind of had the texture of bean dip. I guess I’ll have to try some with flavor.

Dessert

P4190079

Dairy Queen has a buy one blizzard at regular price, get one for 25 cents. So of course Alex and I took advantage of that!! I got mocha chip, he got cookie dough.

I treated because well….Alex is on crutches and hurt his ankle real bad. Recovery could be 4 weeks, therefore ending his outdoor season (which he’s waited all year for.) What’s even worse is that he’s been running so well and was feeling strong all last week and was ready to break 4 minutes for the 1500. 😦 Poor guy. Needless to say he is not a happy camper and I’ve had to take care of him the last two days and carry his food and open doors etc for him.

Summer Races

Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of races posted up for this summer yet. At least not enough information. But here are the plans for the summer.

Road Race 5k
Road or Grass 10k
XC kickoff 5k on grass
Mackland Mile

That is the extent of my summer racing. I don’t want to race a lot because I want to stay fresh for the cross country season since I am walking on the team! But I also want to have an idea where my 5k’s are, both road and grass. Same with the 10k since Coach has a goal for me to be a 10k runner in track. Crazy, right? About 25 laps on a track! I’m pretty excited though.

Then there’s the Mackland mile which alex did last year and I really wanted to join him. So I’m doing it this year. It’s basically a mile straight downhill for the most part. So it’ll be a pretty awesome time. It’s also on the 4th of July which makes it even cooler.

Q: What summer races do you have planned?

Q: What running shoes do you run in?

——————————-

Things that make me happy

– New shoes
– The fact that all my laundry is clean
– That even though alex isn’t racing, I get to spend more time with my family saturday
– Knowing that I mean a lot to Alex and am able to help him manage
– Yummy pineapple

Lance Armstrong, watch out.

What a deal!!! If anyone is looking for compression shorts, check out Road Runner Sports

RRL990-BK

These are 14.95!!!! They are part of the bargain for the day so they are 50% off from the normal price. And if you want to be so kind and order a size small for me while you’re at it, that’d be great too! haha 🙂

Check them out here

They even have a side zipper pocket for your key/money.

Breakfast

Biking and Running

P4180054 P4180050

    ^ Biking ^                                                          ^ running ^
I didn’t use Lola for biking because I didn’t want to scratch her up if I happened to fall. Apparently the 305 is named Lopez (never knew) and he’s one tough cookie so I strapped him onto my handlebars. Luckily I didn’t fall so he was safe!

Biking:

Alex and I went bike riding on the bike path!

It’s 4.24 miles long and then we turned around and came back.

Stats:

Mileage MPH Time
4.24 10.6 24:02
4.25 12.3 20:41

best mph: 16.5

Think I’m getting a lot more comfortable and confident on the bike. Thank goodness for padded bike shorts!!!

Running:

After the biking I ran 3 miles on the bike path. I felt so slow but really I wasn’t slow at all!

run

The top line is the total run and the other 3 are each of the miles broken down 🙂

Then the columns got cut off but it’s

“Total distance. Total Time. Average Pace. Average Speed. Max Speed. Total Calories. Total Ascent”

P4180056  Picture of my new sticker! “13.1 been there, run that”

P4180057

HAHAHAA Alex must be sooooo happy he can’t even open his eyes!!

P4180058

I’m showing off how beastly lame I am 🙂

P4180061

I think my Hincapie socks gave me my wicked bike skills today. Totally.

Post Run/Bike

P4180062

An incredible tasting orange that was incredibly easy to peel and a string cheese!

Also I got a new sports bra from Old Navy!! On sale for $10 but I got it for $8 something because I signed up for a rewards card….that I think turned out to a credit card. What a scammer! You don’t ask someone “would you like to save 20% by getting a Old Navy Rewards card” and then sign them up for a Old Navy Credit card. UGH!

At least the sports bra is cool?

P4170048 P4170049

I like the color a ton!

Challenge

Alright, I have been challenged to cook something I’ve never cooked before. This really WILL be a challenge because I don’t have a stove!! The only cooking devices I have are a microwave and toaster. Now if you help me come up with something amazing to cook via microwave I will attempt this challenge!! 🙂 Otherwise I’ll have to wait til Friday when I’m at a house I can cook food at.

Any suggestions for something to cook/try?

Things that make me happy

– Getting better at biking
– Still having my fast running after taking a week off
– Getting to see my parents/dog this weekend! (wish it was for longer than a few hours)
– Watching Alex run outdoor track

lists of four!

Today’s been an eventful day.

4 assignments consuming my time:

1. adult assignment for lifespan nutrition – 70% done with (due may 4th)
2. Paper for English – 15% done with
part one: choosing a topic assignment (due april 16th)
part two: anointed bibliography (due april 28th)
part three: actual paper (due may 12th)
3. Apparel Analysis Project – 15% done with (due may 3rd)
4. Case Study – 25% done with (due sometime between april 19th-24th)

As you can see I’m quite the busy bee. I’m working hard to get my grades up and maintain a 3.5 GPA but it is really hard. I’m not sure if any of you are like me, but tests are not my greatest strength. In fact it is probably my biggest weakness. Therefore college sucks for me. I might lose my scholarship for next year because I might not get my 3.5 GPA, but i’m going to try my hardest, i’m just not sure how good it’s looking. That’s why I have to do really well on those projects above.

4 good things that happened to me today:

1. I’m officially a walk on for SEMO’s cross country and track team for next year!!! That’s right, division I. I just need to get faster so I can actually travel and be on the actual team of 8 girls that compete.
2. RoadID kindly let me order a RoadID for free and I’m going to review it on the blog once it comes 🙂 I’ve been wanting one of these forever!!!  Definitely something you should invest in.
3. Coach Krieger told me he was proud of me. I also said how I had stuff to prove to people because they don’t believe I’ll ever be fast, and he said I didn’t have to prove anything to him and that makes me feel good knowing I have someone else who believes in me.
4. I’m also learning to swim from Coach Krieger next week so I can do pool workouts.

3 (well really 4) changes challenge status:

1. do more core work – Haven’t started yet this week, but will do some after I post this!
2. stop procrastinating with school work – as you can see above, I am working ahead of time as best I can.
3. keep room tidy – Cleaned dorm room and it’s stayed tidy.
4. Read more – I am reading a book for class but it’s actually really good, so I’d consider it reading for run too. “Coming of Age in Mississippi” is the title. It’s about an African American girl growing up in the rural south. Very action packed and I’ve only read 14 pages so far.

4 things I want:

1. A running skirt – not to run in, but to just wear daily. It’s like I’m wearing compression all the time but I look more presentable with a skirt over the top. Plus I can be casual but look classy. What a plus!
2. A bike rack for my car – We’ve noticed it’s a bit hard to travel with a bike and a bunch of luggage. Having a bike rack on the car would be more convenient and less of a hassle.
3. More compression shorts/running tank tops – It’s that time again where it’s hot out. Asics compression shorts are under $20 bucks and I’d like a pair or lots.
4. A sling bag – I’ve been wanting a sling bag to use as a “purse” because a backpack is too big and purses aren’t convenient to have to carry on one arm while doing activities. Since we are going to disney world I’ll probably want one to carry my water bottle around and maybe some snacks for the family. There’s a cool asics sling bag but I think it’s more the size of a backpack, I wouldn’t mind having one of those as well as a smaller sling bag which can be found on amazon for under $20 as well.

Talk about a Challenge

3 Changes Challenge

I actually have 4 challenges

1. do more “core” work: because we all know a strong core makes a strong runner

2. dedicate more time to my studies: the end is near and it’s time to buckle down.

3. Keep room tidy: it’s time to start packing up the dorm room and also get it tidy and keep it that way.

4. Read more: I have so many books I want to read and not enough time.

Challenge starts April 13 and goes until May 13

Are you up for the challenge?
